|    new FAQ maintainer?    |
|    17 Jan 05 01:46:57    |
From: crabbe@usna.edu              Greetings,              I am the maintainer of the comp.ai FAQ. As you may have noticed, the       FAQ posting frequency is not what is once was. At this stage, I don't       have time to read comp.ai, much less maintain the FAQ, and I know that       Amit is similarly busy. We've been doing this 5 years, and its time       to pass it on. So, I'm looking for a volunteer to take over       maintainance and posting. The job can be fun, and I learned a lot       from it.              I do have a few things I'm looking for:              - Someone who will be willing to give the document a thorough going       over. Some parts have gotten out of date again.       - Someone who will post monthly again.       - Someone in academia or a mainstream research lab. AI has a tendency       to attract, well, wackos, and posting from a sober site will lend it       credibility.       - I'd like that my, Amit's, and Mark's name remain with the document.       We (especially Mark) put in a lot of time in writing it.       - I'd like that the FAQ continue to crosspost to news.answers and       comp.answers, and that the new maintainer agree to do the paperwork for       the switch.       That's it. If you're interested, please drop me a line.              cheers,       Ric              [ comp.ai is moderated. To submit, just post and be patient, or if ]       [ that fails mail your article to |
