   Eliminating Interpolating Neurons in Sel

   Hi,

I'm currently searching for some kind of stable algorithm which detects
interpolating units in a SOM. I think i have to go via the U-Matrix
approach. However, most threshold based algorithms will fail, if the
SOM is rather small and only contains few (if any) interpolating units.
Is there any standard procedure out there?
