   If your boss is a member of a commercial heirarchy, then you would want   
   to look at what's out there first, before deciding to build your own.   
   :-)   
      
   My approach would be  to license what you can get budget in mind, and   
   build the rest, time and resources in mind.   
      
   Almost no problem in AI is as easy as it looks, and most solutions have   
   very narrow domains of applicability.   
      
   Oh! And don't worry too much about describing your problem... You will   
   be surprised at the wide range of applications researchers have   
   attacked so far.
