   I'd like to write an application that calculates the degree of semantic   
   overlap between two texts. I'm very new to text mining, so where should   
   I start?   
      
   Are there any well known algorithms used for carrying out such a task?   
   Can you recommend any software package / API? Any good books or papers   
   to begin with?
