   My name is Nate and I am a 27 year old white male from Ohio. Somehow, I   
   managed to grow up and finish college without ever dating a single woman who   
   wasn’t white. Even though this is pretty typical in Ohio, especially the all   
   white part where I am from,   
    it made me feel like I was missing out on something. There is so much that   
   different cultures can learn from each other. I signed up for Interracial   
   Romance because there are all sorts of members. What was really interesting   
   for me was how open everyone    
   was to talking about race. In my community, that topic is usually sealed and   
   considered bad conversation. The first few dates that I went out on I felt a   
   bit like an idiot. Actually I was one. I had no idea about basic things like   
   how black women treat    
   their hair or how nice it feels in your hands J. Luckily, the girls were great   
   and turned my ignorance into a joke we could both laugh at. I don’t really   
   care whether I date a black, white, Latin, Asian girl or whatever. For me it   
   is just cool that    
   there is a place where everyone can come together.
