From: wsilvert@netcabo.pt              I'm not sure that moderating the news group is the easiest solution - wow,       what would we do without all that fuzzy porn? - and a mailing list might be       an easier way to go. With a mailing list you can exclude spammers, with a       moderated newsgroup you have to delete all their posts. However, while there       do exist some fuzzy mailing lists, they do not seem to have caught on, and       perhaps part of the problem is that it is easy for a first-timer to post to       a newsgroup but a bit harder to have to sign up for a list first.              I also feel that fuzzy logic has progressed to the point where more       specialised groups wuld be appropriate, but this does not seem to be       happening. For example, I am interested in applications of fuzzy logic to       ecology and environmental science, but attempts to get lists started in       these areas have not gone very far. One factor may be that it is easy to       search for newsgroups, harder to find mailing lists.              Bill Silvert              "William Siler" |
