I was pulling Bill's leg over his mis-statement. I know what he meant to
write was that the RETE algorithm _increases_ program efficiency and
   _decreases_ processing time.

It's been out for several weeks, I learned just today, but we mere mortals
could not tell that by looking at Springer's web site (controlled by
headquarters in Germany) or at Amazon's web site. I'm sending an e-mail to
the latter about this. Back orders have been filled, my editor tells me. Why
they make it a big secret, I've no idea.

It's also available at a book shop in the UK; I don't recall the name
off-hand. Bug your local bookshop buyer to order in a copy or three. :-)

BTW, the "slides" for my presentation on the process will be up on my web
site later today. Written in LaTeX, and typeset by TeX, they are available as
a pdf file and can be viewed using Adobe's Acrobat Reader, acroread, xpdf, or
any other suitable tool. It's getting rave reviews from those who've seen it.

This application, of course, complements your business process applications
and strengthens the answer to the question, "Does anyone do real work with
   fuzzy logic?"
