   There's one camp that claims "real languages" are things like Standard   
   ML or Haskell. There's another camp that claims "real languages" are   
   those that can be used to write real programs; that means C, or   
   (usually with nose-holding) C++.   
      
   There are also assorted zealots who insist that their pet language   
   (Scheme, Python, CLU, Eiffel, Smalltalk, Mercury, whatever) is the   
   only "real language".   
      
   One of the few things all these people agree on is that Java is a   
   terrible language.
