(:-))              Seriously speaking, the language choice should be based on what does it and       the environment of have to offer for the problem at hand. There should be a       list of requirements to the product you are going to design. Sort of - the       thingy should be portable (platforms), maintainable (n years ahead),       extensible (to what), embedded (memory/CPU constraints), reusable, have GUI       (y/n), deal with a DB (which), handle actuators/sensors (vendors, hardware       interfaces), be integrated (into products X,Y,Z), support concurrency       (heterogenous/symmetric) and so on, and so forth. And of course, "the       customer says it must be in VB" is a requirement to respect.              --       Regards,       Dmitry A.
