   Hello,

   please have a look at:
   https://pastebin.com/SJBJmmiM

there is C code, what makes it possible to show background,
and follow the mouse cursor by moving the text cursor.
I wonder me, why the "printf("O");" does not draw/print the
   O onto the screen/display.

I have a dimension of 80x25 chars in colored mode upper>127
Also, 16 fg/bg colors x 255 possible chars and blink states.
   IBM-PC Standard PC ASCII set.

The flikker text is away, and it seems very softener as
   before.

The code for the "mouse_handler" can be grab from older post
   in this group.

   Thanks for helping
   Jens
