That's it.              When someone posts an article to an nntp server, if the newsgroup is       moderated, instead of distributing it as usual, the server emails it to       comp-lang-asm-x86@isc.org (or similar). They in turn email it to the       submission mailbox, specified by the moderator (but kindly provided by       Terje, in this case). "isc" is Internet Services Consortium - they're       the folks who provide the server software and generally keep things       running - I don't know where they get their funding, if any. The       moderator would have to advise them if the submission mailbox - or       moderator - changes. moderators@isc.org or perhaps       moderator-request@isc.org - obviously I don't have much contact with       them, since I've forgotten the address. A search starting with "Big 8"       should find them...              If someone wants to take over moderation of this group, I will gladly       step aside. But what we really "need" is an assistant that I can name to       isc so that when I encounter a "bus error" or otherwise shuffle off this       mortal coil the transition to a new moderator will go smoothly. Doesn't       have to do anything at all, right away. Having someone else to check       that mailbox if my electricity is out or I'm otherwise off line would be       nice, but that would just cause a delay...              Best,       Frank              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
