From: EmailNullFile@nospicedham.voenflacbe.cpm              Apparently, Intel processor's for over the past decade are allowing       speculative execution of code without any privilege checks. The exact       specifics of the flaw are apparently still secret. The software       patches to fix these issues for Windows, Linux, and Mac's are believed       to kill processor performance by up to 30%.              article about the design flaw       https://www.theregister.co.uk/2018/01/02/intel_cpu_design_flaw/              article about the software patches       http://www.businessinsider.com/intel-cpu-flaw-big-performance-sl       wdow-windows-pc-2018-1                     FYI, the first article uses slang "Chipzilla" to mean monopolistic       Intel.                     Rod Pemberton       --       How can it be domestic terrorism if your country is a dictatorship? ...              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
