   Both of those examples are two key strokes: The CTRL key, and the letter.   
   If you want your programs to receive them as a single symbol you will need   
   to, in your keyboard handling code, detect the CTRL key being down when   
   pressing a letter, and if so subtract 64 (0x40).   
      
   Just a question: How are you entering upper- and lowercase letters ?  Or   
   entering a "@" (instead of a "2") ?  Creating CTRL- chars works   
   pretty much the same way.
