   A recent thread in alt.lang.asm announced that Frank B. Kotler, the   
   moderator of comp.lang.asm.x86, sadly passed away in May 2024. We thank   
   Mr. Kotler for generously volunteering so much of his time and   
   expertise, and offer our condolences to everyone who knew him.   
      
   As comp.lang.asm.x86 now seems to have no moderators, the Big-8 Board   
   has started a moderator vacancy investigation with the aim of bringing the   
   newsgroup back into use.   
      
   Anyone wishing to follow or add to the discussion should do so in   
   news.groups.proposals, in the thread starting with the Board's post of 13   
   September 2024 (Message-ID:
