|    Modem channel on WG 3.3    |

XPost: alt.bbs.majorbbs       From: Brian@NOSPAMscab.org              I just bought a USR V.92 external Non win-modem for a 3.3 server (yes the       software is legal) for personal remote dial in access. Plugged it in, added       a modem channel in hdware config, readjusted my line counts and watched it       crash on startup. I know I have two problems.              1) I need an init string, and maybe there is one in the booklet with the       modem, I haven't looked yet.              2) I can't remember how to get WG to seek/find the modem. I did this with 16       cards in a boca box on 2.0 years ago but be damned if I can remember a thing       now. Wasn't there an .exe in the wgserv folder that one could run to force       WG to seek all the com ports for modems?              P.S. I have not installed any drivers off the CD that came with the modem as       I don't see any drivers. All I see on the CD is bullshit tooty fruity       software. Furthermore, it's running in Win 2k pro which of course did not       pick up the modem on plug & play.              Any help would sure be appreciated.              Brian              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
