   The problem was that I was calling bind() on an IPX socket.  What's   
   interesting about this is apparently there are cases where WinSock   
   doesn't return an error when you do this.  (It probably should always   
   return an error.)   
      
   I assume it might have something to do with the version of NWlink loaded   
   as well as a few other seemingly random factors.   
      
   In any case removing the bind() call doesn't change the operation of   
   TIAD at all and seems more correct judging by the cryptic documentation   
   about using IPX with WinSock.   
      
   Yet another reason it's still alpha software. :)
