   I know what Fidonet is -- I was on it for a long time.  At that time, it   
   most certainly was a collection of semi-connected BBS's.  Yes, there were   
   gateways to Usenet and PCBoard and etc.  But Fidonet is now completely   
   unnecessary -- a dinosaur.
