   I see the benefit if it can be done, at least in some languages,   
   though. I've had code that needed debugging, yet worked perfectly fine   
   in a debug build. In C++, it usually means someone somewhere on the   
   project has handled a pointer badly or memsetted a class instance   
   (wiping a virtual pointer) or similar.
