   Awk is like this. You can continue after a comma, && or ||.  Possibly   
   in other places too.  You can supply semicolons to separate statements   
   on the same line, if you want.   
      
   It tends to work fairly naturally in awk, I rarely use \ to continue   
   onto the next line.  :-)
