|    old BEG Backend Generator for modern Lin    |

I had used the backend generator BEG v1.75 by Helmut Emmelmann [1] for an       Oberon-2 compiler as part of my computer science thesis in 1995.              Trying to resurrect this old code base [2], I run into the problem that the       original BEG binary which I still have is in an old a.out format, and I have       been unsuccessful so far to get it to run on a modern Linux.              I reached out to Helmut Emmelmann via the contact info from his web site [3],       but haven't received any response.              What other options should I look into?              -Max              [1] ftp://i44ftp.info.uni-karlsruhe.de/pub/mocka/linux/beg1.75-linux.lsm       [2] https://github.com/m2spring/jacob       [3] http://hei.biz/              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
