I'm not really updated       on whether all our parts for SQL 2008 are out, but the SQL 2005 books       will still take you a long way. You will probably have more use for       Itzik Ben-Gan's books on querying and programming, at least to start with.              But then it depends a lot on what features you will need. For instance,       if you project includes export/import of a lot of data, you should look into       SQL Server Integration Services.              And keep in mind, SQL Server != Oracle. If you design your SQL Server       solution as if you were on Oracle, there will be no happy ending.                     --       Erland Sommarskog, SQL Server MVP, esquel@sommarskog.se              Links for SQL Server Books Online:       SQL 2008: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/sqlserver/cc514207.aspx       SQL 2005: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/sqlserver/bb895970.aspx       SQL 2000: http://www.microsoft.com/sql/prodinfo/previousversions/books.mspx              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
