Just       make sure that you download and install service pack 3 (SP2 is actually       enough, but I recommend installing the latest service pack anyway)       before using SQL Server.              And make sure to download the correct service pack, as the express       edition has seperate downloads from the other SQL Server editions.              SQL Express 2008 should work too. No service pack needed, though I       recommend downloading and installing SP1 for Express anyway.              Whichever version you choose, make sure that during install you select       only the components you need. That should avoid the bloat you are       complaining about.              --       Hugo Kornelis, SQL Server MVP       My SQL Server blog: http://sqlblog.com/blogs/hugo_kornelis              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
