   When you ran the uninstall, did you get any error message, or did it   
   seem to complete successfully?   
      
   Since you can install several instances of SQL Server on the same   
   machine, and of different versions and editions it is not clear to   
   me why SQL Setup would say that there is a previous install - unless   
   you are trying to use an instance name that is already in use.   
      
   For which reason did you decide to uninstall and reinstall?
