        Yes, I know about that.  I have seen it many times.   
      
        What I did not know was which setup you were referring to.  Aside   
   from that one, candidates for what you were referring to were the user   
   account setup of Control Panel - User Accounts and the setup that is   
   supposedly in My Computer - Manage.  All have been referred to in this   
   thread, and all are setups.

        You do realise that my having to guess the right question is the   
   major part of the frustration, right?   
      
        Maybe, you could tell what information I should provide you.  I   
   am installing (trying to install) on a Windows XP Home system which is   
   a freestanding workstation.  I am installing from my account which is   
   administrative.  I apparently have no way of dealing with service   
   accounts; at least, I have not seen anything about them on my system.   
      
        I did have SQL Express running on this system at one point. That   
   adds to the frustration.  What is the different factor that is causing   
   installations to fail?  Why did SQL Express setup trash part of my   
   system?  I am not the only one to have such problems.
