From: chuckh1958_nospam@gmail.com              I'm running mostly sql 2005 on Windows 2003 or 2008 Server. When       applying SP4 to SQL 2005 I am required to stop the Windows Management       Insrtumentation service. About 60% of the time when I try to stop it, it       gets hung in the "stopping" state and the only way I've found shut it       down then is to bounce the server.              1) If it does get stuck in the "stopping" state, is there anything at       that point short of a reboot that will force it to shut down?       2) Is there another way to shut down the service and guarantee it will       stop cleanly?                     TIA              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
