   Have you tried the following:   
      
   1. Disable Windows Update Service   
   2. Move the directory C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution to a different   
   location   
   3. Enable Windows Update Service   
   4. Reboot   
      
   Perhaps this will fix it?
