|    Provider not listed - repost    |

From: matthew.wells@firstbyte.net              Good Morning All              I'm trying to create a simple connection string to a SQL 2000 server using       the old "SQL Server" driver - not the Native Client, but it is not listed in       my list of providers. I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate. I have reinstalled       MDAC 2.8 SP1 with no difference. This is critical to me since I have clients       who still connect with this driver.              If anyone remembers using SQL 2000 and creating a .udl file, you'll remember       that when the list of providers came up, the "SQL Server" was there. This       would be the same whether using a gui or building the string manually. It's       the provider that's needed. How I make the connection is irrelevant.              Does anyone know how to make the provider "SQL Server" appear in the list?              Thank you              Matthew Wells       matthew.wells@firstbyte.net              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
