|    Odd Server Name on Connection List    |
|    07 Oct 11 14:55:15    |
From: genew@ocis.net              Dear SQLers:               I have a Windows 7 box. I installed Denali on it, and I just       installed SQL Server 2008 Express SP 3, presumably 64-bit thoughI was       not asked.               1) There is but one SSMS: the one for Denali. From it, I can get       into the 2008 instance. At least, I can view the names of the       databases in it. (I have not tried to go further.) This seemed odd       at first. Is it OK? I would have thought that a permanent version       would have more rank.               2) The list of server names has two entries for       db2.srv.host-it.co.uk. What is this? It is not anything that I       (knowingly) added. How did the entries get there? Has my system been       hacked?               There is not much on this system so if I had to nuke it, I could       (and probably should to get in some practice).              Sincerely,              Gene Wirchenko              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
