From: elziko@NOTSPAMMINGyahoo.co.uk              After receiving a set of disks I have installed 9i2 on our server and have       the database running fine... all out existing 8.1.7 Clients can access it       just fine using the Microsoft OLEDB data provider.              However, on one machine I have uninstalled the 8.1.7 Client and replaced it       with the 9i2 client. Now although the Oracle OLEDB driver works (as does a       Net Configuration Assistant Test) the Microsoft OLEDB driver now gives this       error when I try to connect:              "Test connection failed because of an error in initializing provider. Oracle       error occurred, but error message could not be retrieved from oracle."              Can anyone help with this? With no error retrieved from Oracle it's       difficult to know where to start!              --              Cheers,              elziko              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
