|    Re: ORA-06508 on Citrix Metaframe XP wit    |

From: member45421@dbforums.com              This is the problem that the topic starter posted:                            "we installed Oracle-Client 8.1.7 on a server with Windows 2000              Terminal-Services and Citrix Metaframe Xp. The Forms-Applications we              wrote are on a fileserver.              10 users had started the applications on the Citrix-Server and they              could work fine. After some hours when they changed a module within              the programs they received the following message:              "FRM-40735: ON-ERROR Trigger trifft auf unbehandelte Exception              ORA-06508."              When I try to start an oracle-program on the citrix-server I receive              the same message. Starting the same program on a fat PC then all is              ok.              When all the user-sessions on the citrix-server are finished, then I              can start the same program without problem on the server."                            and we have exact the same problem. But now we know where the error       is. The first user that logs onto the oracle server also starts the       runtime on the Citrix Server. Other users log on too and they share       the runtime with the first user. Now, when the "first user" logs off,       the runtime is also stopped in his session. But from the shared memory       is too much information lost, so the other users can't use ist       anymore. When the first user is logged on all the time, the error ist       gone. A supporter from citrix told us to start the application on the       citrix server and not just the link on the oracle server. We'll try       and keep you up to date.                     --       Posted via http://dbforums.com              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
