|    Oracle RAC on Linux...    |
|    16 Jan 04 10:53:16    |
From: bob@aol.com              I have been trying to get Oracle RAC running under linux (using Firewire)       and have been having some problems with OCFS. At this point, it seems       everything is working correctly on the firewire side (the sbp2 module       loads and I can fdisk the firewire drive without any issues), but the       loading of OCFS gets the following errors:              Oracle Cluster FileSystem 1.0.10-PROD2 Thu Oct 30 16:52:56 PST 2003 (build       58096323e868c6646e63f9c288d1e334)       (1132) ERROR: 'node_name' not set or too long, Linux/ocfsmain.c, 491       (1132) ERROR: 'ip_address' not set or too long, Linux/ocfsmain.c, 499       (1132) ERROR: 'guid' not set correctly, Linux/ocfsmain.c, 507              I am using the precompiled packages (RPMs) available at otn.oracle.com,       but assume that I need to create some form of configuration file to       satisfy the errors above. Is that correct, and if so, where and what does       the configuration file contain?              Thanks              Environment:               RedHat 8.0 with all errata loaded        Kernel 2.4.20-18.10.1 (otn.oracle.com)        OCFS 2.4.20-18.10-1.0.10-2 (otn.oracle.com)        OCFS-Support 1.0.10-2 (otn.oracle.com)              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
