   I have sometimes used an old dos command called substitute (subst) which   
   still works with XP. I use this sometimes in situations where Paradox is   
   started away from the network, but still needs a drive letter that looks   
   like it is still on the network, but in fact resides on the local C:\.  This   
   works for network control files(.net) as well as for Paradox Aliases etc.   
      
   I run a batch file with the following syntax:   
   subst A: /D   
   subst A: C:\60gig   
      
   In the above, the first line simply removes the substituted A:\ drive   
   The second line maps (or substitutes) drive letter A:\ for whatever is in   
   the 60gig folder on C:\ drive.   
      
   Give it a try if you like....
