I'm not the OP, but since I'm having the same problem, I may as well
   poach.

Actually, I'm running Paradox 9.0, so the registry key has "9.0"
instead of "10.0" Its value is

   C:\Program Files\Corel\WordPerfect Office 2000\Paradox

Yes, that folder does contain a file named padox.pic. I added this
registry enty by hand -- it didn't previously exist, and I guessed
that adding it might cure the problem. Alas, no.

Curiously, using XP's Search dialog (the one with the sappy little
puppy wagging its tail) doesn't find paradox.pic. I can drill down
with File Manager (or whatever they call it nowadays) and find it
easily enough, though. No, it desn't have any of the Read-only,
   Hidden, or Archive attributes set.

   >Do you have any pdoxwin.ini or pdoxwork.ini ( with more than an empty
   >[Folder] section) files in the same folder as the table?

   No.

   >Does the table have a .FAM file or a .TV file?

   No.

   >Does the table have a lookup table?

   No.

This problem isn't really life-threatening. I can still restructure
the table. It's just annoying to have to close what seems like an
   extraneous warning dialog.
