   I had problems with Paradox and Oracle 8 and later using SQL links. When   
   doing a pass-through query to some views, the data would come back garbled.   
   Also the version of SQLORA8.DLL in some of the later 5.x version of BDE also   
   have problems with Oracle 8 and later. If you use SQL links I think you'll   
   need to do some thorough testing. I haven't experienced any of these   
   problems with the Oracle supplied ODBC driver.
