   Hi Leslie.   
      
   You've solved the problem though perhaps not in the way expected from   
   your advice.   
      
   I checked BDE Admin and found that the Shared Memory Location settings   
   were, as you advised, blank and 2048.   
      
   I then had a look at the Compatibility Mode which was unticked. So, as   
   an experiment, I set it to Win2000 and, lo and behold, the program   
   started without any problem!
