   Just last night it occured to me that I might be able to use it with   
   the top-level UIO and did successfully.  I have used it and setrange   
   in the past with unlinked tables, which is why I was puzzled when I   
   couldn't use it in my current situation, well, along with having it   
   work in one linked case, but not in another on the same form.   
      
   Thanks again to both of you for solving this mystery for me.
