|    Nutshell Plus II    |
|    06 Feb 09 12:18:07    |
From: user@example.net              I have a client that is using an old database called, Nutshell Plus II.       The copyrights are from Claris Corp, 1989, and IRIS software in 1990.       The database files have a '.db' extension to them. In the process of       moving the DOS-based database to a Windows machine where it could be       backed up and possibly upgraded to a newer database, it became       corrupted. As dumbfounded as I was that this happened, it was more       surprising that there was no backup, and that the customer has about 90%       of his data in this database. The utilities that came with the       software, NUTUTILS, did nothing to help the matter. I was able to find       an older version of the database, about 8 months old, but at least it       was something. Does anyone know if there is a utility that can repair       this database? Is it possible to upgrade this database to a version       that would bring it into the 21st Century? I did some research and       found that Nutshell was closely related to the earliest versions of       Filemaker, though I believe it was only for the MAC. Do you think an       old version of Filemaker and/or a database such as dBase III would be       able to import/convert the data from Nutshell? Any help would be       appreciated. Thanks in advance.              Eric              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
