How to backup ASM metadata in Oracle 10

   I have an old Oracle 10.2.0.1.0 installation in which it is now using ASM for   
   storage.   
      
   I wish to backup the the ASM metadata using the md_backup command from asmcmd.   
   It looks the md_backup command was first introduced in Oracle 11 and therefore   
   I cannot use it.   
      
   Does anyone know how this can be achived in Oracle 10?
