   Title: java Architect/Java Application Lead

   Location: 935 Douglas Pike, Smithfield, RI  candidates can be remote,   
   post-covid Erik wants the option to have them onsite with the team although   
   there is no sign of this happening any time soon. Let’s stick to local

   Duration: 6 months + opportunity to extend candidates if they are extremely   
   strong   
      
   Interview Process: All interviews will be conducted on WebEx conference, if   
   local will bring onsite and preferred   
      
       
      
   Must Haves   
      
   Should be hands-on and well versed in all aspects of a JAVA based application   
   lifecycle from design to deploy and should have expertise in fine tuning code,   
   configuration and environment to achieve the performance, scalability and   
   stability goals of the    
   application.   
   5+ years of experience with Java J2SE 1.4, 1.5, 1.6 and 1.7 , Java Application   
   Development (Web applications, JMS Enterprise Messaging(IBM MQ or RabbitMQ or   
   ActiveMQ) ), JBOSS Fuse, JBOSS EAP, WebServices with SOAP and Rest   
   3+ years of experience with Java Frameworks(Spring, Struts, Camel, ActiveMQ,   
   JDBC) Java Containers(Tomcat, ServiceMix) Maven Builds, SVN Repositories, SQL   
   (PL/SQL) and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)   
   5+ years of experience working with an Oracle database (11.2.0.3 and above)   
   and SQL/querying skills   
    Plus (Strongly Preferred)   
      
   Capable of communicating effectively across a diverse workforce to ensure work   
   transitions efficiently, without interruption   
   Capable of leading the team to adopt new and evolving changes to technology   
   and process   
   Ability to partner with individuals and teams across the Enterprise to achieve   
   project and departmental goals   
   Day to day   
      
   Will be responsible for creating, reviewing and maintaining Java related   
   system architecture documentation, and create  detail design documents that   
   will be followed by the java developers to build the applications.   
      
   Communicating functional/technical requirements to application development   
   teams and tracking work status   
   Perform Project architecture and development (coding) roles as required   
   Problem solving and troubleshooting design and development issues and provide   
   appropriate solutions   
   Assist the production support team with technical and functional expertise in   
   the event of production issues   
   Perform rotational on call function (including weekends & nights) in providing   
   assistance to the production support team   
   Assist in deploying/migrating & supporting a product within production   
   environment; serve as the subject matter expert for systems in production -   
   helping to ensure a stable, robust production environment   
   Identify gaps/bottlenecks in server configuration/capacity, conn   
   ction/concurrency settings, session management etc. and partner with   
   middleware and operating system administration teams to optimize the server   
   environment for optimal application
