|    That Was Then, This Is Now: Trump Admini    |

From: telecomdigestsubmissions@remove-this.telecom-digest.org              November 2, 2020              by Aaron Burstein and Gonzalo E. Mon              Continuing its intense focus on internet platforms' role in political       debate and the liability protections they receive under the       Communications Decency Act (CDA), 47 U.S.C. ยง 230, the Trump       Administration this week submitted a legislative proposal that would       substantially limit platforms' Section 230 immunity. The       Administration's legislative proposal joins several other bills that       take aim at platform immunity. It is unclear whether any of these       proposals will advance in the near term, but the proposals are a sign       of sustained, bipartisan concern about the breadth of Section 230       immunity. Nonetheless, the Administration's proposal in particular       provides a look at some of the far-reaching changes to Section 230       that are under consideration.              https://www.mondaq.com/unitedstates/social-media/1000630/that-wa       -then-this-is-now-trump-administration-proposes-section-230-refo       ms?email_access=on              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
