   For what it's worth, I tried this in my edition of vim (v 9.1 on   
   Fedora 41, pretty much default). It incremented Foo07 to Foo08. I dug   
   into /usr/share/vim/vim91/defaults.vim and found this:   
      
   " Do not recognize octal numbers for Ctrl-A and Ctrl-X, most users find it   
   " confusing.
