One book that isn't a "bible", but that I really enjoyed recently was
[Imperfect C++] by Matthew Wilson. Another book, not even touching on C++, but
a very good read for an experienced programmer, is [Seven Languages in Seven
   Weeks] by Bruce Tate.

I dunno. When lacking time, I've just fallen back to only skimming the titles
(of this group) and being more picky with what I read (and what I take time to
   reply to).

I think the volume of this group here is really such that you can only look
into it once a week and still don't miss the important parts.

Good C++ code is better than good C code, but
bad C++ can be much, much worse than bad C code.
