|    Wrap a stream around a pre-allocated buf    |

From: john.removeme.keenan@optimapowerware.com              It is my understanding that std::ostrstream is depredicated by the C++       standard. I am looking for a non-depredicated stream for direct use with       a pre-allocated char buffer (direct use indicates the buffer is not copied       because of its potential large size). "The C++ Programming Language"       3rd edition by Bjourne Stroustrup, page 642 top of the page, states "It       is possible... " but does not show how. I am hoping I have waited long       enough that a standardized replacement is available.              What is the recommended replacement to std::ostrstream when used       directly with a pre-allocated char buffer? Is a page 642 example       available?              John              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
