   That does not work. C++ is not easy to grok for C guys. C++ is far bigger   
   and more complex language than C. Needlessly so by widespread mantra of   
   C guys.   
      
   If you need event loop, thread pool and asynchronous IO with sockets for   
   C guys then take C library. For example libuv

   If they have NIH policy of avoiding libraries whatsoever then that won't
