   I never claimed mastodon is the epitome of science and fact. I enjoy many   
   things that are completely made up and have no pragmatic value.   
      
   If, however, your sole criterion for enjoying things is fact and utility,   
   then by all means stay away from mastodon, usenet and for that matter,   
   most of the internet today and stick to academia. ;)
