   Oh, and I will say that most of the students that I deal with personally   
   are not CS students at all but engineering students.  They get one programming   
   class, usually in Matlab, and no basic computer literacy stuff at all.   
      
   This is really no worse than it was when I was in engineering school, when   
   students got one programming class in Fortran.  But it's not good, because   
   so many things are done with computers today.   
      
   They do teach mechanical drawing with cad/cam systems now instead of making   
   kids use those goddamn rapidographs like we had to use.
