   The wattage rating on a power supply is the maximum power capacity that   
   the power supply can safely provide. It does not mean that, for example,   
   a machine with a 300W supply is continuously drawing 2.5A @ 120V of   
   current. It will instead provide power demanded of it up to the limit of   
   its rated capacity, after which some over-current device will trip and   
   shutdown the current.
