   I never got asked to save my password - and I use a Google Pixel 6a with   
   a Google account.

   I can't remember when I opted out of those "helpful" features, but I   
   think one option was in "Android System Intelligence" - "Customize the   
   experience using your Google Account data". I turned this off along with   
   all other options which claim to "help" or "assist" me with anything.
