Mac OS has more desktop users than Linux, so it's not that big of a
   "secret". :-p

MacOS and Linux-based OSes are "cousins". Technically, MacOS (or macOS,
or Mac OS, or whatever Apple decides is the name this week) is based
OpenStep and FreeBSD, via NeXTSTEP. All of Apple's other operating
systems like iOS, iPadsOS, watchOS, etc. are based on MacOS.
