As is always the case, the Apple trolls are ignorant of almost everything.

I visit Germany every year where customer service is atrocious compared to
   that of the USA.

Germany's highest court ruled against Lands' End for offering an
unconditional, unlimited guarantee, which was deemed an unfair business
   practice under German law.

The unlimited, unconditional guarantee on its products is a hallmark of the
customer service philosophy in the U.S.A. of many companies (e.g., Costco).

   Not in Germany.
Excellent customer service is an unfair business practice in Germany.

Germany's highest court ruled that this guarantee violated a 1932 German
law prohibiting companies from offering incentives with purchases. The
court viewed the guarantee as an unfair inducement, since it wasn't
standard practice in Germany and could distort competition.

The German court ruled that excellent customer service is an unfair
business practice because nobody else in Germany offered that service.

Interestingly, the ruling prohibited Lands' End from advertising its
unlimited guarantee in Germany but they could still privately honor it.

It's always the case that Apple trolls own strong opinions based only on
their own sheer ignorance of everything that they speak about on Usenet.
